We all want our children to get good grades; but how is your car doing? After being tested for safety, Chevrolet’s 2014 models include seven 5-star vehicles. In letter grades, that would be an A++.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, or NHTSA, awarded the 5-Star Overall Vehicle Scores to Chevy’s Sonic, Cruze, Volt, Impala, Traverse, Camaro Coupe and Silverado 1500 Crew Cab. These 5-star vehicles cover a full range of sizes.
Chevy studied hard for their test scores. Sixty percent of the safety standards incorporated into the vehicles went above and beyond federal requirements to meet General Motor’s own stringent regulations.
Some of the technologies you will see in these 5-star vehicles include forward collision alert and lane departure warning.
GM’s general director for Vehicle Safety and Crashworthiness, Gay Kent said, “We are committed to offering advanced safety technologies on a broad range of models, not just on the most expensive vehicles. All of our vehicles are designed to provide continuous protection for customers before, during and after a crash.”
Looks like all that studying paid off.
