This is the second part of our summer road trip saga. We here at Suski Automotive are all about helping you get the most out of owning a great Chevrolet or Buick car. Especially those of you who love to road trip or have an all-new Chevy offering built-in 4G LTE. What better way to do that then by driving around our great state of Michigan?
Want to get away for the weekend, but don’t know exactly where to go? Well we’ve highlighted three of our favorite weekend trips in the Birch Run area that you might want to consider checking out.
Grand Rapids, MI
We couldn’t limit this great city to just one thing. There is so much to do in Grand Rapids, from historic sites to beaches it is easy to make a weekend getaway out of traveling just a few hours. There are also many great festivals, activates and attractions that are ongoing like “Dream it, Build it: A LEGO Certified Professional Exhibit” at the Grand Rapids Public Museum. Personally, one of our favorite things to do that often gets overlooked thanks to all the wonderful things we’ve already listed is to check out the John Ball Zoo. If you end up staying right in Grand Rapids, consider the accommodations at one of these beautiful bed and breakfasts.
If you’re going to take a weekend getaway from Birch Run, there are few better destinations than up north. The UP is full of beautiful wildlife destinations. You could head to Huron National Forest for a weekend of hiking, camping or fishing or even further north to Alpena in order to visit the Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary. Another great spot for outdoor activities such as kayaking is Traverse City. Pretty much anywhere you go in the UP, you’re in for a weekend of just getting away from it all. Just take you’re 4G LTE Chevy in case you don’t want to be too far.
We know what you’re thinking; you can do Detroit with just a day trip… But you should give it more time than that. There is so much to do in this metropolis, it would be a shame to not give it the time it deserves. We love heading into the city for Tigers games and then eating at any of these fine restaurants is a must. If you’re into the art scene, the Detroit Institute of the Arts is one of the finest art museums in the country. You should also take advantage of all the amazing automotive history as well.
