Baseball fans are thrilled to know that Opening Day is just around the corner. Detroit fans might be especially excited to hear about the new display behind centerfield in Comerica Park. As an ode to Chevy engineering, the Chevrolet Fountain will feature several models turned sculptures.
According to Chevy, the Comerica Chevrolet Fountain has actually celebrated Chevy’s sponsorship for the past six years, featuring two new favorite vehicles every year. The new piece will feature a yellow Corvette Z06 and a Midnight Edition Silverado planted atop the fountain. Over 3 million fans visit Comerica Park every year, the perfect place for the display.
“As the Official Vehicle of Major League Baseball, what better way could Chevrolet show our love of the game than by giving our vehicles a bird’s eye view of our hometown team?” asked Paul Edwards, vice president, Chevrolet marketing. “We like to think of these vehicles as the Chevrolet cheering section to drive those centerfield home runs.”
The Corvette Z06 and the Midnight Edition Silverado were specially chosen to sit atop the display for the rest of the year. Chevy chose these two models, not only because they sell well, but also because they best represent the company. Both are designed to have incredible performance, rugged durability, and the best styling around.
