The automotive industry is constantly on the move. Models get updates nearly every year and complete redesigns at least once a decade. The next-generation Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is set to make an appearance for the 2019 model year.
While we don’t have many specifics on what will set this new model apart from the current generation, we do have a few ideas. Spy photos have captured prototype models out testing wearing thick padding to cover up their finer details.
Industry experts believe the redesigned Silverado will be lighter and may even incorporate some aluminum in its body panels. However, you definitely won’t find aluminum in the Silverado’s bed.
The truck will get a new frame, but its essential design, that of a separate body and frame, will remain the same.
As far as engine options, experts speculate that the new truck will come with a few new options. The first being a turbocharged four-cylinder to help boost the truck’s efficiency. There should also be an updated V6 along with a burly V8 option.
