If you have heavy-duty towing needs, you need a truck that can keep up with your work and will never let you down. Recently, the Chevrolet Silverado HD was named one of the most dependable trucks you can get in the J.D. Power 2021 Vehicle Dependability Study. The Silverado HD was the top-ranked truck in the Large Heavy Duty Pickup segment.
Each year, this study surveys owners of three-year-old vehicles to learn about any problems the owners may have encountered. There were over 177 problem areas in the study ranging from mechanical problems to technology issues. Once the results were tabulated, the Silverado HD had the fewest problems of all the heavy-duty pickups in the study.
In general, vehicles are becoming more mechanically reliable each year. In fact, J.D. Power found that owners reported 10% fewer problems than last year. The biggest factor helping the Silverado HD stand above the competition is its easy-to-use technology features. All Silverado HD models come standard with the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system along with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™.
Overall, the entire Chevrolet brand performed well in the study. Results are listed as problems per 100 vehicles, and Chevrolet had a score of 115 PP100, which is better than the industry average of 121 PP100.
