Performance Updates for the 2022 Tahoe and Suburban

Chevrolet Tahoe Suburban | Birch Run, MI

Fans of the Chevrolet Tahoe and Chevrolet Suburban full-size SUVs were happy about the updates to the models in 2021 for the fifth-generation Tahoe and twelfth-generation Suburban. But for 2022, upgrades for off-road performance and the powertrains are sure to create even more of a buzz.

The new Off-Road Performance Package will be available as an optional addition for the Z71 trim level on both the 2022 Tahoe and Suburban. The package itself will include a 6.2-liter V8 engine and dual twin polished stainless-steel exhaust tips.

You will also need to select the Off-Road Capability Package, which gives you Magnetic Ride Control, Air Ride Adaptive suspension, and an electronic limited-slip differential. Adding the Off-Road Capability Package, in turn, requires the inclusion of the Max Trailering Package and the Luxury Package.

The availability of the naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8 gas engine was originally only included for the High Country trim of both the Tahoe and the Suburban. For 2022, the engine will be offered on the RST, Z71, and Premier trims as well. It is rated at 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque and connects to a GM Hydra-Matic 10-speed automatic transmission.
