This past Christmas marked one of our favorite holidays at our Suski Chevrolet and Buick dealership in Birch Run, MI. Not only do many celebrate the joys of Christmas, but we also get to celebrate Louis-Joseph Chevrolet’s birthday. This December 25, 2013 marked the 135 birthday of our beloved Chevrolet Motor Car Company Cofounder.
Ever since Louis Chevrolet was a small child he was interested in mechanical concepts and building things, like bikes. Later on his love grew into racing cars and learning about the auto industry. Traveling the world racing, Louis Chevrolet later was named the lead driver for the Buick Racing Team.
From a young age, Louis Chevrolet was involved in the Chevrolet Motor Car Company and helped it to become the auto giant it is today. Even though the Chevrolet Motor Car Company is now owned by General Motors we can still thank the cofounders for building the company and even finding the iconic Chevy Bowtie emblem.
Some of the oldest Chevrolet models date back to the 50’s and 60’s. In 1953 the Chevrolet Corvette was produced. In 1955 V8 engines were used on the trucks inspiring the El Camino in 1958. Another popular model was the introduction of the 1963 Chevrolet Malibu.
For over 102 years, Chevy has become a trusted household name. Providing many families with affordable and reliable cars they can rely on, Suski Chevrolet and Buick hopes to carry on the tradition! Join us today in celebrating Louis-Joseph Chevrolet and everything that has spun out of his innovation and hard work!
