Chevrolet in Popular Culture

Cars are a staple of American movies, and Chevrolet is no stranger to the silver screen. Chevrolet models have been appearing in hit films for more than half a century. Here’s a quick look at Chevrolet in popular culture from us here at Suski Chevrolet Buick.

1977 Chevrolet Camaro

“Transformers” may have been made into a modern blockbuster in 2007, but the 1977 Chevrolet Camaro played a major role. The Chevrolet Camaro is actually one of the Transformers, Bumblebee, who later becomes a more modern 2010 Chevrolet Camaro. It’s good to know that some American muscle is on their side as Optimus Prime takes on the Decepticons with the other Autobots.

1973 Chevrolet Corvette

The Chevrolet Corvette has been a major star in dozens, if not hundreds, of films. The 1973 Chevrolet Corvette C3 took part in the 1978 movie “Corvette Summer.” In case the name didn’t give it away, the Corvette C3 was the star of the show. While the custom workup was a little controversial, that didn’t stop the sports car from stealing the spotlight.

1947 Chevrolet Advance-Design Thriftmaster

The animated “The Iron Giant” movie did a wonderful job of creating a near-perfect replica of the 1947 Chevrolet Advance-Design Thriftmaster. The main character uses the model quite a bit, making it an icon for film buffs.
